Front cover of the book where in the first months of my daughter's life I intended to write little stories (mostly about animals). The title says "One upon a time, there was a rabbit". This book was going to be a continuation of our storytelling, as we both (me and my partner) spoke tales to Saule while she was still in my womb. We usually began with those words: "One upon a time, there was a rabbit" and then continued with whatever imagination brought at a time... The Forest House publishing sign refers to a place where Saule was born: in a little wooden house among the pine-maple-oak forest.
Our 1st necklace made together. Saule was 3 months, sat on my lap and watched me threading the beads / Dec 2016
Picture of the sun drawn with fantastically soft pencils (Giotto) borrowed from a young boy who accompanied us to the lake and back / July 2017 (10 months postpartum)
A picture made by Saule on erasable drawing board (1 year 4 months). It reminds me of a moose, which is a funny coincident when you know moose were coming over to the area we lived in at that time / Feb 2018
Late night moment of solitude at the kitchen table with my notebook and some chamomile tea / 13 days postpartum
A quick sketch of Saule with fairy wings. Above: a phonetic record of a Saami lullaby that I listened to and sang particularly often at that time / 2 months postpartum
3 months postpartum i felt a growing desire to draw birds
One summer morning I woke up with this image in my mind. It looked like a logo and the writing said "flowing with milk". This was when, for the second time, I felt myself strongly called to starting a blog to share my experiences with other mothers (but did not act upon it yet) / July 2017
Our first doodle book. Saule was a little over 1 year; the pages got torn often and she drew lines on whatever I was drawing
